Abstract

Specifics and issues of innovative development of agriculture in Kazakhstan have been considered. A characteristic feature of modern economy is the dominance of innovations as a factor that ensures long-term competitiveness and economic growth. The authors highlight the reasons of the low level of introduction of innovations in agricultural sector and the possibilities of their solution. The importance of modernization for its successful development has been noted. The main types of innovations in agri-industrial complex and their specifics have been outlined. The models of economic strategies used in agri-industrial production are described. Factors that contribute to and impede the activation of innovation in agro-formations have been identified. The basic directions of innovative development of agri-industrial complex have been determined. The ways of increasing its innovative activity have been suggested.
