The essence of social infrastructure of rural areas has been explored, the functional and sector classification has been clarified, management mechanism has been examined. Its main fac-tors and specifics in rural districts have been identified, analysis and evaluation of promising di-rections have been carried out. The approaches to its renewal, potential for improvement have been shown. The indicator of the quality of life of rural population as a criterion in the effective solution of social problems has been considered.
