Abstract

The issues of territorial and sectoral labor division in agriculture have been explored. Based on the example of the West Kazakhstan region, it was shown that location and specialization of agricultural production by zones and regions of the country - are two sides of the same process: territorial and sectoral labor division. The use of its advantages and breakthrough technologies based on the application of high-performance machinery, fertilizers, pesticides will facilitate establishing of highly efficient agricultural production and ensure food security of the Republic of Kazakhstan and become one of major participants of global agrifood market. It is shown that population households may contribute to the formation of the important sector of agricultural economy - organic agriculture in the region. Measures on improvement of territorial and sectoral labor division in agriculture are possible only in case of active participation of the government.
